June 2, 1993
“We left the comfort of the Kibo Hotel this morning, along with our
guide, assistant guide and several porters. Many are needed to
carry firewood, food, water, pots & pans, and many pounds of gear. I
am so lucky to be doing this climb with my dad. It has been his
dream for many years to climb Kilimanjaro, and I guess I just love
spending time with him. Who knows, I may get hooked. Haven’t been
home from my travels in over a year, so it is wonderful to see him
and spend this time together.” |
